New Baby :)

My dad called me and my sister this morning and told us that we're going shopping for a TV (for my sis) and a camera (Canon EOS 500D, for me obviously). They were both on sale in the same store, and you can probably imagine my excitement. I have been subtly implying about me wanting a new camera to my parents for a while now and today I finally got my wish.

Ok, I know I've said that I had my mind set on a micro four thirds camera, but I wasn't going to be picky and say no thanks to my dad when he finally agreed to buy me a new camera. I liked the idea of a  micro 4/3 camera mainly because of their small size combined to the good photo quality, but in the end my new Canon is quite small (it could be a lot bigger...) and I can live with it. Easily. :)

So yeah, I have a new baby now and I'm excited to learn loads of new things again. I was getting bored with my old camera :P I'm considering of maybe selling it to my brother and his wife...maybe. I'll have to think about it, but if it turns out that I won't be using it at all anymore then there's no point in keeping it myself. And if I sell it to my brother then I can always borrow it to music festivals and such, where it totally kicks ass.

Playing with the manual focus, one of the things I've always wanted to have (and now I do).

  1. Cool! New equipment always gives some extra kick and excitement. Looking forward to see what you can come up with. No pressure... :D

  2. Heh, no pressure indeed..:D Thanks!

  3. Congratulations Milla. I am very excited for you. One advantage your new camera will have over the micro 4/3ds format is sensor size. i believe the cannon has a 15 Mpx sensor. While this does not give you better images, it does allow some more room for cropping while still being able to print large images.

Now go out there and learn to use your new baby. :)

  4. Vau, onnea Milla! Sulla on nyt mun kameran isoveli :D Mä joudun kohta kameraostoksille kun toi alkaa vedellä viimeisiään ;< nyyh

  5. I am having trouble being patient. I want to se some pictures and I want to know what you think of your new camera. :)

  6. Thanks Barb & Sanja! :)

    Tim: Haha :D Patience!
